Civil Rights Compliance Officer
The Civil Rights Compliance Officer is the Superintendent of Schools, with offices at 711 Railroad Street, DeRuyter, NY 13052 (phone number 315-852-3400 x 7403; e-mail ncapone@deruytercentral.org). The Civil Rights Officer shall be appointed by the Board and shall be responsible for providing information, including complaint procedures, and for handling complaints relative to civil rights (e.g., Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disability Act of 1990) for parent, employee or applicant. For civil rights discrimination claims based on race, color, national origin, sex, age and/or disability, a complaint can, at any time, also contact the Office of Civil Rights Phone: 646-428-3900/800-421-3481.
