SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER: The School Social Worker serves a liaison between homes, the school, and community resources and services.  The School Social Worker connects families and students in need of more intensive community resources.  The School Social Worker consults with staff, families, and students on social-emotional, behavioral, and self-care concerns and needs.

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST: The School Psychologist completes special education evaluations with the consent of a student's parent/guardian.  The School Psychologist also collaborates with staff and families on behavioral intervention and supports.  The School Psychologist consults with special education staff, general education staff, and families.

SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL CURRICULUM ??
Students in grades PK-4 engage in Second Step instruction.  The Second Step curriculum is an evidence-based Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program for PreK-8 students teaching crucial life skills like empathy, self-regulation, problem-solving, and social awareness to improve behavior and academic success.  Delivered through engaging, age-appropriate lessons with videos, puppets, and activities, it aims to build compassionate, responsible, and resilient kids.  Second Step helps kids grow and develop into well-rounded individuals by strengthening social-emotional skills, developing knowledge of emotions and emotional regulation, and teaching age-appropriate coping strategies.  Students in grades PK-2 receive this instruction in the classroom while students in grades 3 and 4 participate in Second Step lessons as part of the Health special area class they attend once in a four day cycle.

ROCKET PRIDE PROGRAM ??
Students participate in monthly lessons and activities related to a chosen social-emotional learning theme or trait.  PK-4 students experience school assemblies once a month.  These assemblies are designed to teach students about the trait or SEL skill of focus while also fostering a community of belonging.  5-12 students participate in monthly Rocket Pride meetings which include lessons facilitated by their first period teacher.

SOCIAL-SKILLS LUNCH GROUPS (K-2)??
These lunch groups are offered in 4-6 week sessions throughout the year.  Parents/guardians can sign their child up to participate in these lunch groups to foster the development of age appropriate social skills and emotional regulation skills.  These lunch groups are facilitated by the the School Social Worker.
