COVID-19 24-25 Updates

NYS COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave Legislation has been extended to July 31, 2025.  With Changes to isolation requirements, the following will be the process for accessing COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave for employees at DeRuyter.
 
  • COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave will be available to the employee only, it is no longer available for a child or dependent testing positive for COVID-19
  • With a Positive Test (first incident) or Positive Test and Doctor's Note (2nd and 3rd incident) a self-attestation form must be submitted upon return to work
  • Those infected with COVID-19 are now cleared to return to work when symptoms are improving, and any fever is gone for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications (there is no 5-Day mandatory isolation)
  • Three TOTAL incidents from March 2020 until July 31, 2025 are allowed for COVID-19.  Paid Sick Leave with up to 14 calendar days per incident.
Example:  If you were out 5 days for your first COVID incident in 2020, and again for 3 days for the second incident in 2023, you will have one more opportunity to access COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave for yourself if you test positive for COVID-19 and need to be out of work and are not able to work remotely.


Please click on the link below for the self attestation form.  If you have tested positive for COVID-19 and are requesting COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave, the attestation form is required for the first incident and BOTH the attestation form and a doctor's note are required for the 2nd and 3rd incidents.  If the form and note is not provided upon return to work, accruals will be used for any time off.

DCS does not have any COVID-19 tests available.
