Alumni

Based on declining attendance, challenges in getting sufficient volunteers to assist with the event, and the results of a survey of alumni association members, it was decided to discontinue the Alumni dinner. We are pleased to report that many classes continue to get together on a regular basis.

The Association continues to maintain a database of all alumni to the best of our ability. To that end, if you have a name change, address change, etc., we would welcome those updates! Alumni information updates can be submitted to deruyteralumni@gmail.com.

The most overwhelmingly positive response in our alumni survey was to the question about continuation of the Alumni Association Scholarships. Alumni resoundingly expressed support for our scholarships to deserving seniors who are planning to further their education after graduation.

DeRuyter Central School has taken over custodianship of the Alumni Association Scholarships, which are still given on an annual basis at Graduation to deserving seniors.

The DeRuyter Alumni Association has been awarding these scholarships for two decades. We have supported over 100 students and have awarded approximately $126,000 in scholarships thanks to the generosity of our alumni members.
