ParentSquare Information
WHAT IS PARENTSQUARE?
ParentSquare is an online communication platform that DeRuyter Central School uses with families in the district. ParentSquare can be used to communicate with families through Posts, Messages, and Alerts. Families can use ParentSquare through the ParentSquare website as well as the ParentSquare app (available on mobile devices).
WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH PARENTSQUARE?
Parents who are registered for ParentSquare will see their child's classes and view/interact with district and teacher posts. In addition, parents can directly message their child's teachers. Parents can also customize notification settings (email, text, and/or the app) as well as choose their preferred language for receiving notifications.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
All parents in our SchoolTool directory have been emailed invitations. If you are not able to access the ParentSquare invitations, you can use the steps below.
Here’s how to join:

Visit www.parentsquare.com/signin

Under “Sign Up/Create Password” enter the email or cell phone number DCS has on file with SchoolTool.

If the email/phone matches our information, you will receive an account activation email/text to complete the sign-up.
NOTE: You will receive notifications even if you do not accept the invitation, but you cannot use many ParentSquare functions including the ability to ask questions, fill out forms, RSVP to events or participate in sign-ups.
Looking to create or join a DCS ParentSquare Group?
ARE YOU GETTING TOO MANY MESSAGES?
Customize your notification settings by going to your ParentSquare dashboard page, select your name at the top right, click on My Account. You should now see Notification Settings on the left side. Select “Digest” for fewer notifications (once a day/evening updates) unless it is an emergency message.
