Our area legislators are working on bills in both the Assembly and Senate to restore the GEA. The four (4) legislative representatives for the DeRuyter Central School District are: Assembly William Magee, Assemblyman Gary Finch, Senator David Valesky, and Senator James Seward.
As of today, February 6, 2015, all of our representatives are supporting bills which restore the remaining Gap Elimination Adjustment aid owed to the District.
Please consider writing your representatives a letter of thanks for supporting the restoration of the GEA. For your convenience we have created letters you may use that are already addressed to your representatives, or please feel free to create your own. The representatives' addresses are found on each of the sample letters. These letters are located on our website (
www.deruytercentral.org) – then click the "ADVOCACY INFORMATION" tab on the left. All you have to do is print, sign, and mail the letter to your Assembly Representatives and/or Senators that represent you.
