REOPENING SCHOOL

The DeRuyter Central School District will follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), state and local health departments, the New York State Education Department, and all Executive Orders from the Governor of New York State. 

DeRuyter Central School will continue to update this page over the 2021-2022 School Year as our plan is developed and as more information becomes available.

Madison County Health Department Drive-Thru COVID-19 Rapid Testing: 85 Cedar St in Morrisville (This is at the old County Highway Garage in Morrisville.)
Eligibility: Madison County Resident OR K-12 staff/student that attends/works at a school in a Madison County School District AND in the last 1-7 days have had either symptoms of illness OR a close contact exposure

Other new COVID-19 Testing Options:

1.    Oneida County drive-thru testing site at Griffiss International Airport (706 Hanger Rd. Rome, NY)
Self-administered cheek swab tests at the site. People going to get tested must not eat or drink anything within 30 minutes of their appointment, and should not chew gum, have mints or lozenges, or smoke prior to the test. Those getting tested should also refrain from brushing their teeth or using mouthwash within an hour of the appointment.

2.    New York State Site at the Syracuse Regional Market (Regional Market F-Shed, 2100 Park St, Syracuse, NY)
Offers rapid antigen tests. Test results are sent following the appointment through email or text message. Walk-in appointments also will be available. Click here to schedule a test.  

3.    Syracuse University testing for persons WITHOUT symptoms (asymptomatic) at the Carrier Dome through January 14. Sunday through Friday (Closed Saturday) 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Saliva-based PCR surveillance test is only for asymptomatic individuals. No appointments necessary. People seeking tests should enter the Dome through Gate N.  Parking is available at the Raynor Avenue Lot and Irving Garage. Handicap   accessible parking is available in the Quad Lot. A parking lot map can be accessed by visiting the Campus Maps webpage.
