It is our pleasure to share the names of the 2022 DeRuyter Central School Alumni Scholarship award winners and welcome the Class of 2022 to the Alumni Association!
The Class of 2022 had 25 total students. 21 students attended DeRuyter Central. Three of the students completed their educational program at Cortland Alternative School and one student attended 7 Valley New Tech Academy in Cortland. We celebrate them all!
Six students received 2022 DeRuyter Alumni Association Scholarships of $1000 each.
- Gavin Richardson, Valedictorian
Attending Utica University majoring in Biology/Pre-Health. Mom (Cassidy Gallerani Richardson) is a DCS alumnus.
- Keely Worlock, Salutatorian
Attending St. Lawrence University majoring in Biochemistry. Dad (Marc Worlock) is a DCS alumnus.
- Camren Daley
Attending Lineman school. Mom (Christan Holl Daley) and Dad (Adam Daley) are DCS alumni.
- Madelyn Pforter
Attending SUNY Cortland majoring in Elementary Education. Mom (Aleisha Newton Pforter) and Dad (Aaron Pforter) are DCS alumni.
- Aloura Rice
Attending Keuka College majoring in Occupational Therapy. Dad (Justin Rice) is a DCS alumnus.
- Abriana Whitt
Attending SUNY Cortland majoring in Criminology. Mom (Sarah Bewley Whitt) is a DCS alumnus.
Congratulations to these six deserving scholarship winners! We will all look forward to hearing about their future successes.
The DeRuyter Alumni Association has been awarding these scholarships for two decades. We have supported over 100 students and have awarded approximately $126,000 in scholarships thanks to the generosity of our alumni members.
It's almost time to celebrate the Class of 2023, our newest alumni. The Association will again be awarding scholarships to six of our students at graduation. Please consider making a donation to the DeRuyter Alumni Association, if you are able, to allow us to continue to award scholarships to deserving graduates.
